A place for all the hard pet convos no one prepares you for.
Because relationships are complicated. And beautiful.
And sometimes devastating.
Loss comes in many forms. Grief looks different on everyone.
Here, we talk about all of it.

Maybe you've lost a pet you're madly in love with, and the world just fell out from under you.
When we lose a pet, we lose not only their physical presence but also a part of ourselves. We lose the silent witness to the most personal moments of our lives, and the routine and structure that shaped our days.
Maybe you're grieving the lack of connection you feel with your pet.
If your pet is struggling, it's likely you are too. Pet ownership isn't always the idyllic experience we see in Hallmark movies, and there's a distinct feeling of shame in admitting that the relationship isn't going well. It can be a heavy place to live.
Training has the power to transform relationships, but we also need to address the human's emotional experience. That matters, too.
And yet, in the spectrum of these losses, there is a shared grief.

In this no-shaming zone, we talk about ALL OF IT.
This includes the losses that can feel stigmatizing, isolating, and bring up empty Google searches. Here, it all counts. It all matters. It all deserves a voice.
Over 20 years and loving two dogs, I lived through both the grief of losing a beloved pet and the unique grief that comes with being in a relationship that wasn’t the one I had hoped for. The one I thought I signed up for.
They hurt differently, but they both hurt.
And they taught me that every time we fall in love, it's a different experience.
Welcome to my virtual binder. A modern-day circa 1990 Trapper Keeper.
To a place where I share my most-loved resources and give my personal insights a life outside my journal.
We all have a passion. This is mine. It's kind of like a glorified hobby.

P.S: I believe that "Every Pet Has a TAIL to Tell." And telling mine helped. A LOT.
Closest to my heart, on the “Tell Your TAIL” page, you will find writing prompts and creative expressions to both facilitate healing and keep your pet's memory alive. This was the original inspiration for the site. And somehow, it grew from there.
